Come Sing With Us - 4th Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 pm

Folk Songs Now – A Music Salon is a friendly room for neighbors who want to sing and play together. Each session, we learn a featured folk song (or two), spotlight three writers for one original song each, then close with a group jam on classics. New to writing, singing, or performing? This is a safe place to start.

Why are we doing this?

Because we believe it helps you grow as a musician. Group singing builds confidence, strengthens performance skills, and helps you connect with others—often growing your audience along the way. Most importantly, it’s fun. Think of this as a learning environment and a training ground for your future as a singer, songwriter, or campfire wizard armed with a bag full of folk songs and sing-alongs.

Bring your voice, an acoustic instrument (guitar/banjo/mandolin/ukulele), a tuner, and a song you love.

Free with RSVP • $20 suggested at the door.

FAQ

  • What instruments are welcome, and do I need to bring my own?

Acoustic instruments are encouraged—guitar, piano/keyboard, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, etc. Voices alone are great, too. If you do not have your own instrument or don’t want to bring it, we have instruments at the studio you can borrow for the allotted class time.

  • Do I have to share an original song to participate?

No. Sharing originals is optional!

  • Do I need to be an experienced singer or musician?

Not at all. Folk Songs Now – A Music Salon is designed for all levels, including complete beginners. If you’re new to singing, songwriting, or performing, you’re very welcome here.

  • Is this a performance or a workshop?

It’s a mix of both. The focus is learning, sharing, and singing together—not polished performances.

  • I’m nervous about singing in front of others. Is that okay?

Absolutely. This is a supportive, low-pressure space. Participation is always encouraged, never forced.
