I've been a student at the Bird School of Music for a few months now, and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The space is beautiful and comfortable, the instruction is superior, and I've seen my own playing advance significantly since starting lessons. The school is also at the center of a wonderful community of musicians, making it an easy way to get plugged into a terrific music scene in the Bay Area. Couldn't be happier to have found it.
I can’t say enough great things about the lessons and the people here.
I love Bird Music. My 13yo son has been taking lessons with Dave at Bird for over a year and loves it. He's dabbled in piano before coming here. Last year, he started playing saxophone in his school band so we searched for a sax teacher and found Dave. But then a family friend introduced our son to playing guitar and he switch from the sax. No problem, Dave teaches guitar too. Dave is super kind and patient and has fantastic taste in music. He's exposed my son to a lot of different music, great for his music appreciation. Sometimes he teaches 30 mins of guitar and lets my son choose other instruments to play for the last 30 mins. An amazing opportunity to explore other instruments. My son looks forward to his weekly lessons so much, I don't even have to remind him to head out the door. That is huge.
Anytime I need to reschedule or they need to reschedule it's all handled easily through email or phone. We've had Lane teach a couple times when Dave has had gigs and he is great too. I can't say enough great things about the lessons and the people here.
I absolutely love this place
Im an adult woman that has never played an instrument in my life. I started taking lessons at BIRD once a week for a month or so and I can't explain A. How much I've learned and B. how much fun Ive had. Music therapy at its best. I absolutely love this place and I wish I had started here when I moved to SF from London 5 years ago.
BIRD came highly recommend by 4 people I know but I still was hesitant because, again, I have CERO musical experience except for the fact that I pretend to be a ghost writer for reaggeton. Anyways please do yourself and or your children or your husband or mom a favor and send them to learn ANYTHING here, they won't regret it. Lane the founder, best kept secret in the city. He should get a freaking teacher award seriously.
