New to the Bay Area, Fernando is a multi-instrumentalist who specializes in Electric Bass, Upright Bass, and Guitar. While he grew up on Classic Rock, Blues, and Latin American music, Fernando fell in love with classic R&B, Bluegrass, Folk, and Jazz, which he went on to study primarily. In lessons, Fernando understands that everyone learns in different ways and that each lesson should be catered specifically to the student so they may learn early on to enjoy music. He believes a strong rhythmic foundation is essential to feeling good while creating music and ensures all of his students have that foundation early on.
Fernando loves understanding the ins and outs of music, studying music theory in his own time, which led him to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for two years, where he practiced Jazz performance and theory with Matt Brewer and Joshua Redman, as well as studying Classical Bass from Scott Pingel. Before moving to San Francisco, Fernando spent many years performing and recording across Florida in various bands spanning many of the genres he loves.
