Bird Band Workshop
Grades 2-4 10:30am-Noon
No experience required. Come learn how to find your place in a musical ensemble.
Whether you already play an instrument or not, you'll discover what it means to jam
in a band, both free form and with structured material. This is a skill and a thrill
you won't receive in a private lesson.
Sessions I, II, III, IV, V, VI
Police at Bird
Grades 5-8 1:00pm-3:00pm
Grades 9-12 3:30pm-5:30pm
Following our collaborative effort with ACT at Zeum, musicians enrolled in this program
will focus on the singing, songwriting and stylistic practices of The Police. Come explore
the history and techniques established by Sting, Andy and Stewart before their rise to fame
on US soil. We'll integrate artwork, filmography and even noteworthy tabloid tidbits.
Participants can opt for as many or as few sessions as desired.
Sessions I, II, III
Songwriting
Grades 5-8 1:00pm-3:00pm
Grades 9-12 3:30pm-5:30pm
Musicians of all skill levels aspire to creating and performing their own material.
Using contemporary and historical artists as inspiration, we'll help you unleash and express
yourself in song. Proficiency in at least one instrument preferred.
