Auditions for Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting, a collaboration with American Conservatory Theatre's
Young Conservatory, will take place at Bird on March 19, 2007 from 7-9pm.
We're looking for guitarists, bassists and drummers/percussionists ages 14-18 to form a band to back up
the actor/singers presenting this world premiere musical hitting the Zeum stage in June 2007.
Fields of Gold "pays tribute to one of the truly great singer/songwriters of the 20th Century.
Featuring a wide variety of music, woven into the fabric of an original story, the production will
feature the genius and heart of Sting's music–from his days as the leader of Police to his greatest
solo offerings, in an exciting theatrical presentation." For more information, see the
Conservatory website.
Those of you who saw the Beatles show know what
a great alliance this is and the potential it holds for the serious musician. Not for the faint
of heart or the lethargic, rehearsals begin twice weekly starting March 28. The show opens
June 1 and runs Wednesdays through Sundays through June 17, 2007 at Zeum.
Applicants must be willing and able to commit to all rehearsals and performances.
In keeping with the theme, Session III bands will rehearse and perform songs from the Police catalogue.
