Auditions for the band members of the Bird/ACT production, I'm Still Standing, an original work
featuring the music and lyrics of Elton John, will take place March 18, 2008
from 7:45-9:30pm at Bird, 1924 Polk Street. Please call 441-3551 or email

We're looking for guitarists, bassists, drummers/percussionists and keyboardists ages 14-18 to
form a band to back up the actors and singers from ACT's Young Conservatory Theatre presenting this
world premiere musical at Zeum in May 2008.

This unique theatrical production explores the journey of growing up in word and song, using
Elton John's music as the fabric of the storytelling, including such hits as "Your Song,"
"Don't Let the Sun Go down on Me," "Don't go Breaking My Heart," "Someone Saved My Life Tonight,"
"Bennie and the Jets," "I'm Still Standing" and more. With more than 40 years as a singer/songwriter,
Reginald Kenneth Dwight, known throughout the world as Sir Elton John, has given the world an
astonishing canon of popular music; from haunting ballads to whimsical musical romps, his music has

Those of you who saw the Sting project last year know what
a great alliance this is and the potential it holds for the serious musician.
Rehearsals begin March 25 and performances run May 31-June 21, 2008 at the Zeum Theater.
Applicants must be willing and able to commit to all rehearsals and performances.

Auditions:
- Prepare and play one song written and performed by Elton John
- Prepare and play one song of your choice
- Be ready to discuss your interests and experience
- Arrive 5 minutes before your call time with your instrument (no amplifiers necessary)
- Auditions will take approximately 10 minutes
The cast will be announced on March 20, 2008.
Rehearsals begin March 25. Performances at Zeum are Wendesdays through Sundays beginning May 31
and ending June 21. Applicants must be willing to commit to all rehearsals and performances.
