Bird and Noise Pop present Indie Rock Camp

August 17-21, 2009

Bird is pleased to be partnering with Noise Pop this summer on Indie Rock camp...Noise Pop style! We'll be teaching an intense week of music focusing on performance, songwriting and recording. Songs featured will be from artists that have played the many stages in the 17 years of San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival.

Noise Pop artists past and present will be visiting to perform and engage with the camp daily.

All students will be encouraged to collaborate and form a band for the ultimate end of the week performance and recording of the song.

Camps will be divided into two age groups:
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for grades 2-4 ($350)
1:30PM to 5:00 for grades 5-8 ($400)

About Noise Pop:
Noise Pop has been one of the best-loved celebrations of indie music and culture since its humble birth in 1993. Since then the festival has grown into a widely respected brand. Noise Pop prides itself on bringing exposure to emerging artists, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim, including the White Stripes, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Bright Eyes, The Donnas, Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco) and Silversun Pickups. The festival has also featured underground music legends such as Bob Mould, X, Frank Black (of the Pixies), Sleater Kinney, and Television. A sincere willingness to experiment over the years has yielded results like the Noise Pop Education Series, the Noise Pop Film Festival, gallery art shows and more.
