Summer in the city
Hi All - Thank you to everyone who attended our May Mini Session Concert last Sunday. Talk about a sweaty
hot rock show - the temp in the room could have been controlled better (the problem with our AC is now fixed, UGH!)
but the heat coming off the stage was undeniably cool. Our students had just five weeks to master the music they
presented for you and they all came through with style, grace and great sound. We have witnessed so much musical
growth with each student this year. Some of our great kids are moving on to boarding schools or moving out of town
and will be sorely missed. A few eyes welled up at the end of the day Sunday knowing that we may not see some of you
for a good while, but you will be in our hearts as we hope we stay in yours and please know there is always a musical home
here for you when you return to SF.
Speaking of endings, our collaboration with A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory, the
world premiere of "Beautiful Child: The Music of Rufus Wainwright," closed to a sold-out house at the end of May
after a great run. Thanks to everyone who participated in this adventure.
