The Word from Bird School of Music
February 9, 2010

Dear Parents & Musicians:

First of all, a big thanks to everyone who came out to our Simon & Garfunkel & Simon concert on Sunday! And thanks to ValueAct Capital for providing the venue.

We learned, we listened, we loved this session. Bird had a flood in the midst of the winter rains, but everything's back to normal now and looks almost as new as the day we started -- thanks to the staff at Ken Fulk for caring greatly for The Bird and our musicians. There were some high moments and some even higher moments - including the student who broke his arm at the onset of the session, broke his leg half-way through, and still managed to play the drums on Sunday - now that's rock & roll!

Photos of the show (like this great shot on the right) should be posted on Printroom next week: http://bird-sf.printroom.com.

Don't forget we're closed for Ski Week February 15th-21, and then we return February 22nd with our new session:

Session III - David Bowie

That's right, it's time to explore Mr. Ziggy Stardust and his trend-setting, genre-blending and gender-bending rock. There's more info and a sign-up link here.

Video of a Video Bird Summer Camp
Before you know it, it's going to be time for summer camp. By now you've probably heard about the fabulous music video summer camp we have planned, working with film students from UC Berkeley Details and a sign-up link here
