Announcing a special collaboration between Bird and ACT
Bird and the American Conservatory Theater (ACT) are teaming up to present an original theatrical production inspired by the words and music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

This dual effort will serve to hone the skills of the musicians and educate them in the extensive history, stylings and idiosyncrasies that the full catalog of the Beatles' material represents.

The process will be a two-part endeavor. Bird will find and train the musicians; ACT’s Young Conservatory will do likewise with the actors/singers. Ultimately the two groups will "Come Together" to finish the preparation before the opening of the show on June 2.

Bird will host auditions for guitar players, bassists and drummers in 8th to 12th grade on March 20th, 2006. Rehearsals will begin for the band cast and band understudies for "Come Together, the Music of Lennon and McCartney" on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 23rd. Click here for the complete schedule in calendar form.

The first performance on June 2 will be at the Zeum Theatre and culminate with a matinee on June 25th.

Does your knowledge of the Fab Four extend beyond Penny Lane to Polythene Pam, Mean Mr. Mustard and Sexy Sadie? Are you willing to look beyond the Revolution to Instant Karma? Please call Bird at 441-3551 or email info@bird-sf.com to schedule an audition for March 20th. Musicians will be announced March 21, 2006.
