There was a time when the most popular music in America was big band jazz. Before the Beatles became
superstars in the 1960s, there were the famous big bands of the 1920s to 1940s, led by great musicians
like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Chick Webb.
Bird is seeking students ages 14-19 to play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass and drums in our
new All City Big Band with director Tony Peebles.
